Working Papers

ACYA circulates working papers that identify children’s rights issues in various policy areas. These working papers are drafted and amended by those with expertise in the relevant areas. ACYA is privileged to have the assistance of academics, professionals and practitioners in drafting the papers.

The primary purpose of the working papers is to analyse the status of UNCROC implementation in a particular sector or thematic area.
Following workshops, the amended papers form the basis for material in ACYA’s alternative report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child – for more information go to the ACYA and UNCROC page.

ACYA is limited in the number of pages that may be submitted to the UN Committee in the alternative report, reducing the amount in detail that may be included. We and others, who wish to promote the rights of children and young people in various policy areas, can use working papers as advocacy tools.

Policy areas being covered:
  • Disability
  • Adoption
  • Family Life and Alternative care
  • Health
  • Education
  • Youth Justice
