Katherine Rees -  Children's rights and disability

Katherine completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies and Education at the University of Auckland in 2013.
She has been working in community development in areas relating to education and disability issues since 2004. Previously, she worked as a Youth Advisor to the Office of the Children’s Commissioner.
Her research interests predominantly focus on the area of children’s rights and disability in policy making, particularly as it relates to educational planning.

Katherine also has a particular interest in Photovoice projects and film, having used these methodologies as a means to explore social issues relating to identity and diversity.
