Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa

Who is ACYA and what do we do?

ACYA is a coalition of non-governmental organisations, families and individuals. We promote the rights and wellbeing of our children and youth through advocacy and education using the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international human rights instruments.
ACYA prepares and presents the
Aotearoa New Zealand periodic alternative reports to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. We want to hear from everyone who works with and for children and young people.
  • Are the rights of children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand being respected?
  • Are there breaches of those rights?
We produce working papers and run workshops looking at the various rights protected by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Go to the page ACYA projects for more information.
ACYA is very grateful to the JR McKenzie Trust for their continued financial support for our work.
The New Zealand government's draft 5th periodic report to UNCROC available to the public.
