Report Content

The UN Committee receives reports from around 190 countries, usually in a five year cycle. A set format for the reports is used.

In preparing CRC 2010 Report, ACYA will:

  •  carefully study the Government report for its strengths and  weaknesses
  • consult widely
  • reported in accordance with the format required.

UN Committee ask that the NGO report is no more than 30 pages.

The report format is as follows:

  1. General Measures, follow up from previous reports and reservations (Art 4, 42 and 44)
  2. Definition of the Child:  Age Relationship  (Art 1).
  3. General Principles  (Art 2,3,6 & 12).
  4. Civil Rights  (Art 7,8,13-17 & 37(a)).
  5. Family Environment  (Art 5 18(1-2) 9-11, 19-21, 25,27(4), 39).
  6. Basic Health & Welfare  (Art 6,18 (3) 23,24,26, 27(1-3)).
  7. Education, Leisure, & Cultural Activities  (Art 28, 29, 31)).
  8. Special Protection Measures  (Art 22,38,39,40 37 b-d, 32-36)
  9. Optional Protocols
  10. Tokelau

We are working with Save the Children NZ for a  Youth Participation report. We will be seeking to have a Maori, as Indigenous People, report. Comments on the Pacific Island and Asian experience of children will also be addressed, to gether with those who have special needs.
